What is the Everest Freedom Challenge?

The Everest Freedom Challenge is an endurance event designed to raise funds and awareness in the fight against sex trafficking. Participants take on the physical challenge of climbing the elevation equivalent of Mt. Everest (8,848 meters) in the Canadian Rockies. Whether tackling the full elevation or a portion of it, climbers join a movement of advocates, donors, and frontline organizations working together to combat sexual exploitation. Funds raised through the challenge directly support our partners.

Option 1: Choose a Partner to Support

There are two ways to select where your donation is directed. If you want to support a specific Partner, choose one the images below to visit that Partner’s campaign page. There you can select the climber you want to sponsor and complete your credit card payment. You’ll also be able to read each climber’s story and follow their progress. 

Option 2: Choose a Climber to Sponsor

If you know the climber you want to sponsor, then scroll down and choose them from the list. You can also search by the climber’s name. Help a climber reach or exceed their fundraising goal to support one of our Partners during the annual Everest Freedom Challenge. Your donation goes directly to the Partner organization that your climber has chosen, to be applied to their work in sex trafficking prevention, rescue, and victim restoration.

Payment Options and Details

The best way to make a donation is online using the Contribute buttons above. You can make your donation by credit card, direct deposit, or e-transfer. Your payment will be processed on their Fundrazr platform and forwarded directly to your chosen Partner charity.

If instead, you choose to pay by cheque, please follow these instructions:

    • Make any cheques payable to the Partner charity’s name.
    • Deliver the cheque to one the Freedom 8848 leadership team or mail it to:

    • Put the following in the memo field, “Everest Freedom Challenge“, and the name of the climber you are sponsoring.
    • Be sure to include your name, address, phone number, and email address so that you will receive your tax receipt.

Whichever way you donate, you’ll receive a Canadian tax receipt. The receipt will be issued by the Partner charity.
