Below are some resources that will help you to understand the scope of the problem and what you and others can do.

Safe House Project (new)

Safe House Project holds the audacious belief that eradication of child trafficking is possible through the power of unity, compassion, and collective action. Our mission is to increase survivor identification beyond one percent through education, provide emergency services and placement to all survivors, and ensure every survivor can access quality, safe housing and holistic care.​

Ally Global Foundation (new)

Ally Global Foundation is a Canadian charity that prevents human trafficking and helps survivors build healthy, independent lives.

Makwa Dodem (new)

Makwa Dodem (Bear Clan) is an Indigenous-led program aimed at equipping and empowering Indigenous communities to prevent sexual exploitation.

HER Victory (new)

A Calgary based organization that advocates, restores purpose and creates trusting relationships with those caught in the sex trade, exploited or at risk of being trafficked. (rescue, restoration)

A new ad campaign is warning Alberta’s youth about ‘sextortion’ (new)

A new ad featuring a dancing eggplant has launched on social media platforms including TikTok and Instagram. It was created by ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation team to educate young Albertans about the dangers of sextortion. To learn why this is important, Edmonton AM is joined by Dr. Wanda Polzin-Holman, a psychologist and clinical director at Little Warriors, a Sherwood Park-based organization that supports victims of child sexual abuse. Thorn Software (new)

Thorn Software identifies critical technical needs and produces tools that allow law enforcement to stay ahead of perpetrators and identify more children. The enterprise was founded, in part, by Ashton Kutcher. (enforcement, prevention)

National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) – USA

The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) exists to build a world where people can live and love without sexual abuse and exploitation. (research, litigation, advocacy, policy, training.)

The Dirty Dozen List (new)

The NCOSE Dirty Dozen List is an annual campaign calling out twelve mainstream entities for facilitating, enabling, and even profiting from sexual abuse and exploitation. (parenting, prevention)

Tim Tebow Foundation

The Tim Tebow Foundation exists to bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need. We strive to fight for the Most Vulnerable People in the world—the MVP—through our work in our four main focuses in Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation, Orphan Care + Prevention, Profound Medical Needs, and Special Needs Ministry.

The Carly Ryan Foundation (Australian)

The Carly Ryan Foundation is a certified online safety program provider under the Office of the eSafety Commissioner and delivers online safety and healthy relationship seminars to students and parents. The organisation also provides a range of services and support in the areas of internet safety and crime, cyberbullying, connection to resources and counselling and contributing to law and policy reform.

App Fact Sheets

A collection of 1-page summaries for online apps, including: Tik Tok,  Twitch, Instagram, Roblox, Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube, etc. Summaries include a general description of the App as well as info on challenges,  privacy settings, tips for parents, reporting abuses, blocking users, profile advice, etc.

Canada’s National Tipline for Reporting the Online Sexual Exploitation of Children

The Canadian Centre for Child Protection is a national charity dedicated to the personal safety of all children. Our goal is to reduce the sexual abuse and exploitation of children, assist in the location of missing children, and prevent child victimization through a number of programs, services, and resources for Canadian families, educators, child-serving organizations, law enforcement, and other parties.

Need Help Now

NeedHelpNow.ca helps teens stop the spread of sexual pictures or videos and provides support along the way. If you or someone you know has been negatively impacted by a self/peer exploitation incident, we are here to help offer guidance on the steps you can take to get through it.

Take it Down

Having nudes online is scary, but there is hope to get it taken down. This service is one step you can take to help remove online nude, partially nude, or sexually explicit photos and videos taken before you were 18.

ALERT (Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams)

ALERT operates with one overarching goal: to create safer communities for all Albertans. Established by the Government of Alberta in 2006 to combat organized and serious crime, ALERT brings 400 municipal police and RCMP officers together in teams to investigate everything from drug trafficking to child exploitation to gang violence.

G.H.O.S.T. Certified Program

Sheriff Christopher R. Swanson is a  Michigan police officer who build an effective program to fight sex trafficking. They offer a 3-video training program. (story, education)

Love Justice

Love Justice steps in during the critical moments between freedom and slavery. Our system of transit monitoring dares to believe that together we can prevent the next victim from being trafficked and that the knowledge gained can—and does—lead to arrests and convictions of those who seek to make people into victims. (rescue)

Connect Safely

Educators throughout the United States are invited to create their own Safer Internet Day program for use in their community during the second week of February. Safer Internet Day is February 7, but your program can run any day that week. (prevention, education, parenting)

BRAVE Education for Trafficking Prevention

BRAVE Education for Trafficking Prevention prevents children and youth from being recruited for sex trafficking. BRAVE uses story, film and workshop activities to provide awareness, prevention and actions for children and youth. The average age of recruitment in Canada is 12 – 14 years of age, across all demographics, and is a fastest growing crime.

Exodus Cry

Exodus Cry fights for the freedom of all sex trafficking victims. They work to break the cycle of exploitation and help those sold for sex, because every person should be free.
